There are multiple benefits to adding a rug to your home or business décor.  Below are a few that The Carpet and Rug Institute came up with.

Provides warmth and comfort

Remember your early days of grade school when your teacher said to “have a seat on the rug?” More times than not, the rug had squares, one for each letter of the alphabet. I always felt comfort in getting “my square” on the rug. Area rugs and carpet runners have a way of providing that for many.

Noise reduction

In a day when there are more electronics than ever ringing or vibrating or just making weird noises, carpet runners and area rugs can help dull the “most of the time” annoying noises. Bare tile and wood floors are famous, or should I say infamous for making a room sound hollow or having an echo to them, not ideal when one is going for warm and comfortable environment.

Invites guest or customers into your home or business

Aisle runners or indoor rugs lead your guest to where they need to go. Who doesn’t like getting treated like royalty and having the red carpet rolled out for them? Okay, so maybe you don’t go that far at your home, but that does not mean you can’t do so at your next big event, like a wedding, graduation or company picnic.

Adds style and functionality

This is one of those times when a picture can speak a thousand words. Most times a simple hallway or work area looks “fine” until you add a carpet runner or aisle rug and you realize “that is what was missing!” A rug can definitely give your room that finished look and unlike most décor, can provide so much functionality by warming up the space. Rug Street offers a variety of colors to accommodate your preferred color palette and style.

Softens slips and falls

Hopefully this is not a benefit that everyone will take advantage of, but if someone does trip or fall, my guess is they would rather do so on a area rug. Doesn’t hurt to have one there just in case. Besides, it may be you that finds out the hard way, that rugs really can soften a slip or fall. Having a rug that has a non-slip backing is a must. A carpet runner or rug does not do anyone good if it is going to move under their feet. We can’t forget about children and pets either, helping little ones and our furry friends be safe goes without saying. For this reason, adding a skid resistant carpet runner to a flight of slippery stairs or front entrance makes perfect sense.
